2011 BMW F10 iDrive CIC In The INDIWORK Garage.
The SCB-CIC supports the BMW original screen equipped with ‘4-pin LVDS round connector’ only. Please check the specification of original LVDS connector on the sidelines of a production year.
Unlike the NBT package, the SCB-CIC interface package additionally includes an external microphone and a microphone IN/OUT cable.
In the case of the SCB-NBT module, the sound and the MIC are connected to the original lines through the main quadlock cable, but, the F10 CIC model cannot be connected the sound and MIC through a quadlock cable. Therefore, when installing the CIC carplay interface, an external microphone must be connected, and the sound must be connected directly to the AUX IN terminal.
When installing the interface, we mount an additional USB port in the armrest console to easily connect the iPhone to the USB port. After installing the interface and, we connect the iPhone to the USB port via Apple Lightning cable, and carplay system will start.
Users can switch between the CarPlay mode and the original system through the original button, and the carplay is controlled by the idrive original buttons. In addition, Users can quickly execute the ‘SIRI’ voice recognition function with the original button. Please refer to the instruction manual we provide for how to use the buttons.
The sound of carplay is output to the car’s speakers through the original AUX.
User cannot use the video apps such as YouTube on the caraplay system. Nevertheless, it’s the perfect multimedia for navigation, music play or phone calls.
Besides, if you install carplay, phone mirroring is supported by default.
